Our History
Brandon Branch #003 received its charter in 1926 and its rich history serves as a reminder of those who gave their lives for what we have today. As you walk through the Legion, you’ll see our archives of medals and plaques and our Legion shop, where you can make purchases to support local veterans. Branch #003 also organizes the annual Decoration Day Service as well as the annual Remembrance Day Service. With our close proximity to CFB Shilo, the last Sunday in August branch members are honoured to welcome Serving Members and their families to our annual Military Family Appreciation Day. An afternoon of fun, crafts, games and food.
Brandon Branch #003 Legion Today
Although historically the Legion has been portrayed as a place for older veterans, Brandon Branch #003 Legion is proud to also have a blossoming membership of all Canadians who support the principles of The Legion. From darts, pool, shuffleboard to meat draws, you’ll find all the activities you love when you become a member. General Membership meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of July, August and December. The meetings commence at 7:30 pm in the Banquet Hall. The Brandon branch Ladies Auxillary received their charter in May 6, 1933. New Members are always welcome. Meetings take place in the Banquet Hall on the first Tuesday of the month.
