Standing Committees
Our standing committees are the backbone of Branch #003. Each committee plays a vital role in serving Veterans, organizing events, and keeping our branch running. Volunteers are always welcome to join any committee.
Sick & Visiting
At the direction of the branch, committee members contact or visit members and Veterans who are confined by illness to hospital or home. The committee is authorized to make gifts such as floral bouquets, fruit baskets, or Legion crested fleece blankets on behalf of Branch #003.
Secretary & Publicity
Members assist in promoting all functions related to Branch #003 through social media, local media, and pertinent literature. This committee helps keep our community informed about Legion activities and events.
Honours & Awards
Members organize and contact all current members deserving of long service pins while maintaining an accurate and updated database. The committee also coordinates with the Branch President for awards presentation evenings.
Bingo
One of our biggest committees! Members assist the Chair with organizing and supporting bingo operations including selling bingo cards, calling back numbers, and running the bingo canteen. Bingo takes place every Thursday.
Sports
Members assist with organizing and implementing Branch #003 sanctioned events including the annual curling bonspiel, annual golf tournament, and various sports-themed gatherings throughout the year.
Ways & Means / Catering
Members assist with promoting, preparing, and executing event services. This includes preparing meals, serving guests, and attending branch-sponsored events. Our catering team is led by Chef Erich Stumme.
Join a Committee
Volunteering with a committee is a great way to get involved with your local Legion. Training is provided for all positions.
